On Friday evening November 1st and all day Saturday November 2nd, join Kingston Transition, Radio Kingston, Good Work Institute, Commonwealth Hudson Valley, Rise Up Kingston, O+ and Novo Foundation in conversations about creating a Just Transition for Kingston.

The event will take place at  the George Washington Elementary School, 67 Wall St in Kingston. No fee. Please pass this to any colleagues you feel may be interested.

On Friday night we will hear talks by Kali Akuno from Cooperation Jackson, Ariel Brooks from the  Center For Economic Democracy and David Bollier, one of the nation’s foremost writers and thinkers on the Commons, a new paradigm of economics, politics and culture.

Saturday we’ll get down to working with each other, in a participant-led unconference, exploring  some of the big questions facing us as right now, including:

  • How did we get where we are, as a community, a nation, a species?
  • What do we need to navigate these tumultuous times and create the systems and ways of being in community that best serve us?
  • What’s already going on in and around Kingston?
  • What more do we think is possible?
  • What is your role or your organization’s role in a Just Transition?
